We never get what we want

From my mom....

We never get what we want,We never want what we get,We never have what we like,We never like what we have. And still we live & love. That's life...

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,Because it takes only a smile toMake a dark day seems bright.

Find the one that makes your heart smile!

The best kind of friends,Is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with,Never say a word,And then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't knowWhat we've got until it's gone,But it's also true that we don't knowWhat we've been missing until it arrives..

May you haveEnough happiness to make you sweet,Enough trials to make you strong,Enough sorrow to keep you human,And enough hope to make you happy.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back!Don't expect love in return;Just wait for it to grow in their heart,But if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you,It probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of peopleDon't necessarily have the best of everything; They just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Happiness lies forThose who cry,Those who hurt,Those who have searched,And those who have tried,For only they can appreciate the importance of peopleWho have touched their lives.

My dad posted this in his log last year I just found it!

To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolls over to 50 this week, so here's an update:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Overprepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
36. Growing old beats the alternative - dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
45. The best is yet to come.
46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
49. Yield.
50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

My Good Friend and one of my favorite dancers of al time, BOOGIE FRANTICK will be released from federal prison.

He has been in Federal Prison for 5 Months, thank to his family member, his facebook has been updated and many of his emails are being posted for us all to be inspired by.

Here's his post update:

As I begin this letter, I sigh with relief. The outcome of my sentencing continually shows me how blessed I really am. A "slap on the wrist" they call it, but I on the other hand define it as: Love. As in the show of love the judge gave me when he decided on my fate. That right there I do believe. During these past 7 months spent here at MDC I faced many faces, many names, and many trials. I have come to a conclusion that this was meant to happen. There was no escaping the manifestations of the mind from the past. The ability to think is a powerful mechanism, act, happening, and event. But I have to thank the ones around me and myself for making the changes I have made mentally. I transformed from merely living in fear to doing my best to live in the present. My mind faced many variations through the past 29 years. I am for sure not going to break it all down in just one letter of course. LOL I have just came to the realization of it all though.
We have the power to make our own fate, to live a destination unknown but reflected upon some how because of our own imagination. For many years living with so much fear, hate, pain, anger - One would never assume the light would some how brighten the darkness. But it has and I've seen it - As Will Farrell stated in the movie "Old School" while imagining seeing the character whose name is "Blue": He looks glorious. HAHAHA! (love that movie) - Where was I? Oh yeah - A life in which changed from negative to positive even within living in chaos. I see the light and yeah it looks glorious LOL...
So I say this with humbleness for those too hard headed to realize. Do not mistake this type of kindness for weakness, I just carry a way to share positivity and one could only hope I still face the tests of the unknown. You cannot rain or storm on an invincible parade no further than you can try to understand why or how I see the light within the people around me. From human to human you the one ignoring this, the one appreciating this, the one hating this, the one who is reading this, the one who is loving this, the "one" as in everyone - I appreciate you!.....

 From an ethereal being…

"All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won't succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy."   - Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, is a best-selling author and motivational speaker.

Let the best times of this year be the worst times of tomorrow

It just keeps getting better
